A compact, character-rich village weaving in the Caucasian Kazak tradition, this handmade wool rug brings crisp geometrics, saturated natural hues, and the warmth of true artisan work to any space. Its bold central medallion, protective ram’s-horn and Greek-key borders, and lively abrash (natural color variation) make it an ideal heirloom accent for entryways, kitchens, bedside, or layered interiors.

This small Kazak showcases everything collectors love about Caucasian geometrics: a vivid madder-red field frames a stepped indigo lozenge holding a cream snowflake-cross göl with a pistachio center. Deep outlines in charcoal/indigo crisply separate colors, a classic village technique that sharpens motifs and adds graphic punch. Surrounding the field is a wolf’s-tooth inner guard and a meander/ram’s-horn main border whose cartouches alternate in ochre, indigo, green, and brick—an iconic sequence in rugs from the Kazak–Kars belt.

The wool is springy and luminous, the handle is sturdy yet pliant (double-wefted), and the dyes present as traditional (madder/indigo with vegetal greens), yielding the softly variegated abrash prized by designers and collectors alike. Sized perfectly for an entry, kitchen, bath, bedside, office, or to layer under a side table, it delivers museum-story aesthetics in an everyday-usable format.
