This striking small area rug was hand-knotted in the Southwest Zagros nomadic tradition often associated with the Qashqai around the Shiraz region. The design centers on a vertical chain of three octagonal/diamond medallions in rich indigo with latch-hook outlines, floating on a saturated madder-red field. Warm camel, ivory, and bottle-green accents appear in the spandrels and borders, while narrow striped kilim ends finish the piece—classic tribal work that adds authenticity and charm. The wool is lustrous and resilient with a satisfying, medium pile, making this a perfect accent for an entry, office, beside the bed, or layered in boho and eclectic spaces.

Geometric talismanic motifs—hooked diamonds (protection), small “S”/ram’s-horn forms (strength), and tiny crosses/rosettes—are arranged with the clear axial symmetry typical of mobile-loom weaving.
